Our Story
Modestisa began long before it became a brand.
After moving to the United States in 2007, I spent years searching for clothing that reflected both my style and my values. Like many women who dress modestly, I would walk through stores such as Ross, TJ Maxx, Macy's, and countless others, hoping to find that one perfect piece.
More often than not, I found myself saying, "If only..."
If only it had sleeves.
If only it wasn't see-through.
If only the slit wasn't so high.
If only it were just a little longer.
Beautiful pieces were everywhere, but finding one that truly worked without compromise often felt impossible.
As life became busier with marriage, motherhood, and everyday responsibilities, spending hours searching through stores was no longer realistic. Online shopping made the search easier, but sizing and quality often became a gamble.
I knew there had to be a better way.
That's why I created Modestisa.
Our goal is simple: to make discovering beautiful, modest clothing easier. Some pieces are carefully curated from trusted manufacturers, while others are thoughtfully created or customized exclusively for Modestisa, whether that means improving the fit, adding lining, extending lengths, refining sizing, or developing entirely new designs. Every piece is selected with the same purpose: to offer clothing that feels elegant, practical, and genuinely wearable.
We believe modest fashion should offer more than just occasionwear. It should support every part of your life, from everyday errands and the workplace to special occasions and everything in between.
The name Modestisa was inspired by two ideas close to my heart: Modest and Nisa, the Arabic word for women. Together, they represent women who embrace modesty with confidence, grace, and individuality.
As an introvert, I've always believed that clothing can say something before we ever speak. A thoughtfully chosen outfit has the power to express confidence, elegance, and personality without demanding attention.
